this is how you make them like you

okay kids, it's time.

time for...
my review of FEED THE ANIMALS

ayo this beat is bananas.

girl talk has done it again, children. this time offering up a strange take on "variety". the samples are all fresh, but a giant portion of them are rap samples. this isnt a bad thing, as the songs typically work better "girl-talk-ized" than they do regularly. the record itself is absolutely epic. i guess you could say he's following a formula he started on night ripper, but this record is different than night ripper in different ways. he goes back to certain roots on this record that were virtually nonexistent on night ripper [ie: "i wish that i had jessies girl/but i'd rather get some head" is very reminiscent of secret diary & 'what ifff': "what if god was a hood rat chick?"]. Glitchboxing also came back in this one very "unstoppable" of him.

obviously it's one big clusterfuck of pop-culture & dance music, though there are plenty of surprising samples that will have you going "huh...?"

i havent stopped listening to this one pretty much since thursday & it's just awesome, the end.

time for me to come through & shut the club down

xx
